Hi there. If you’re reading this, chances are you’re either at a show or have just seen one. So thanks for that. Thanks. Thank you. Thank you very much. You hear that a lot at live show. I say it a lot at mine. And for all the nonsense I talk in my life (80/20 nonsense to legitimate), I can’t mean these words enough. “Thank you? For what?” Thank you for cheering, sure. But pause right there. No rewind to the part where you sat in traffic longer than you expected, and then to the part where you wait on your one late friend to show up at your house so you can hit the road early and avoid traffic. Thank you for that. Keep going back further and you’ll see buying the ticket, rounding up who’s in for the trip, and finding the cheapest way to get the closest seats. Thanks for that. Now rewind to the part where you ask your boss to give you the day off. Thank you very much for not only paying to see me, but giving up a day of work. (Are you sure you really wanted to come??) Thank you for all the orther points in between. The time it took to find the perfect show outfit, ladies. How about the few crafty ones whose parents think they’re at a youth group lock-in? How about the guys who told their buddies they were going to see Linkin Park? To the sign markers, the tall ones in the front, the loud ones with no pitch, the fans who like Early Mayer but came to give it another shot… The point is, that “thank you” unfolds as wide and as far as the lenghts you have gone to see this show.
